Good morning just wanted to say hello to everyone I bought a 76 that the owner told me needed a little love....Ha didn't realize at the time how much love he meant.
I will post some pictures soon but it was originally a dark brown paint code 69lL (now a dark blue metallic) with a buckskin interior 642 now a conglomeration of 78 door panels and seats with a 78 tilt tele column. This gives me two wiper switch locations LOL the interior didn't look too bad because he swapped it over to a grey and oyster....but I did miss the column details at least only the original wiper switch is used.
The car does have its original drive train with only 76k title matches it on the entire car.
I am hoping to swap the 78 door panels back to the 76 style along with the column. Hoping to just change the door handle location/operating mechanism along with the door panels but not sure if they will work that way if someone has installed 78-up doors.
The other thing I would like to find is other owners with buckskin interior. I am not sure if the whole interior would look good buckskin or to use dark brown carpets and other dark brown trim parts
I will post some photos as soon as I figure out how to use my photo bucket account again LOL
Thanks it will be fun. many found memories driving around in a 65 convert 327 4spd car with side pipes. My dad had a 68 327 350hp convert growing up then went onto a 67 427 coupe. I bought this for us to play with he is 74 now. He still rides his Harley around but would rather have him cruising in this.
Welcome John! If you do not have an AIM yet get one it will be of great help.
Don't be afraid to ask questions there a lot of guys/ gals with a great deal of knowledge.
Welcome to the Forum. The members have given me good advice on the manuals/diagrams that I needed. I've even bought some great-looking parts from members in the PARTS FOR SALE FORUM.
They also told me to repair the safety-related components first---u-joints, brake pads, fluids, filters, etc.
