Default '69 C3 and Flares

I have purchased a 1969 Coupe 427 tri power 4spd Coupe. Rebuilt 427 but the numbers don't match. Tri power is gone and the 4spd is now a Doug Nash 5spd.

The is body not great, 1972 Flares were put on after the original flares were HACKED OFF, and I do mean hacked. The birdcages are rotted and the hood is not stock and there is a big hole where it looks like the hood rod mounted.
It will never be an NCRS winner so why not make it fun to drive.

I will be using the ACI flares with the whole 1/4 panel from Mid America Corvette Parts. Not sure what size wheels to use but I will keep everybody posted.

Let the haters sling their insults, it's mine and I want it the way I want it.

1. Upload your picture at photobucket.
2. COPY the IMG code. (the 4th one listed, the last one under the picture)
3. PASTE that IMG link into your post.

Done.

Go for it. The best part about these cars is they are for the most part cheap to work on, cheap on parts, work on yourself, and you can do whatever you want. Pristine or rare examples should be kept that way but some just beg to be modified. I have an all original 69 427 and got some guff for changing out the original carpets even though they smelled like they just came out of a fish market that had been closed for a week.
Do what you want. Get it running. Be proud of it.

I know what your thinking but it really is worse then it looks. The old flares are kinda there as they were cut off with a sawzall and the '72 flares that were bondo'd on not so gracefully are now cracking.

I would NOT send full payment for parts you do not have in your hands. Send a small deposit. Then hope you get them.

I won't get into how I know.

Looks like a car you can have some fun with. I went with custom image flares on my 76 and changed out the rear bumper while we were at it. I have been very happy with them.
Keep us posed on your progress.

Actually I want to get a '74 Corvette and do the same thing as you because after '73Corvettes are not worth much out here and at '75 Smog becomes mandatory here in the Peoples Republic of KALEEFORNYA.
