Finally got my car running and found out that my radio has a constant sequel when the car is running and the radio is on. I have the retro sound radio and the radio works fine when the car is not running. If anyone has encountered this before I sure appreciate it if you could share your solution with me.
You've either got alternator whine or ignition interference. If the noise rises and lowers with engine rpm's, it's alternator whine. If the nose stays constant its ignition caused.
Does your car still have the shielding around the distributor and plugs wires (small block), or shield around the distributor and coil and shielded plug wires (big block)? If not, it needs them.
If it's alternator whine you can install a condenser on the alternator made for the purpose. You can also buy filters to install in the power lead to the radio in the dash.
