Welcome to my world! Same thing here, we have had record snow and cold this year, the ice is 18 inches thick on our river and breaking up in huge sections with chunks everywhere. We finally got some warm air and it started melting. It was almost 60 degrees here today, I can see the neighbor's roof again and the grass in our yard......but......we are now, once again, under a winter storm warning starting with rain showers that could possibly be severe and contain hail up to 1" in diameter, all of that will turn to snow overnight and we are supposed to get 5 to 8 inches again.

I am so over it!

We had a cold front blast through today too. Yesterday it was 81, today and tomorrow 67,68.
At least we don't have to shovel sunshine.

Our winter has been so bad here that I think it will be a long time before my husband complains about mowing the grass again!

Didn't want to chime in for fear of gloating but since the OP titled the thread: "what the heck??" ... you snow bunnies do have my condolences.

I made out like a bandit this year. I am studying abroad for a semester in Costa Rica so have missed this terrible Rochester NY winter. It is 70 here every day and I have seen rain twice. But I don't have a car here so that's no fun. I will be home at the end of this month just in time to get the 80 out of storage and go pick up the 2011 grand sport we bought the day before I left!

Here's to hoping the snow is gone by April

Finger Lakes region of Upstate NY here.

I painted the bottom of my boat in a t-shirt over the weekend and cooked out doors.

Ice fished a bit that day too. The ice was 22 inches thick and picked my dock posts up around a foot.

My car is sitting in the garage looking hungry.

Just got to work, left an hour and a half early so I would not have to drive with the idiots that cannot drive in snow. Made it to work in the normal amount of time. Chicago just moved into the third spot for the snowiest winter, on the bright side we are #1 for the coldest winter.

I'm near Niagara Falls, New York, and the National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for the area. Winds up to 50 mph and possible snowfall of 18". But, on Friday they are calling for 40 degrees!
I don't think the '72 will ever come out of the garage.

Hmmm... I grew up in Ontario so I know of what you speak. I wish I was back there today. I have a day off from work, but I can't enjoy it. The wife has me working in the yard all day getting her gardens ready. Then I have to clean the pool
