Am I correct that every time you start the car, the seat belt warning light goes on and stays on until you push the seatbelt button which turns off the light? And this is proper normal operation?
That button is a pain in the butt, and you eventually wear the paint off of the bezel from pushing it. I eliminated mine, or you could take the bulb out. Lou.
I like it. It reminds me of the good ole days when you had a choice. As a kid riding in my dad's vette (now mine) I always looked forward to pressing the button. It gave me an important job. Now my son presses it for me. Love that button!
Yes. To drive the car, you have to do the check list and turn off the lamp....sort of like an airplane checklist. 46 years later after leaving the factory, the check seat belt lamp still works.
No it isn't taxing, but it is a pain. I have owned my 68 for 41 1/2 years, put over 100,000 miles on it, had to use it for a daily driver for 4 1/2 years after getting divorced. And you have to push the stupid button that does absolutely nothing, to turn off the light, every time that you start the car. Lou.
It's just something you do when you start the car. If that's the only thing you have to 'worry' about, consider yourself very lucky.
I've been driving them for as long as you have. It's a nuisance...but it's never bothered me because it's just part of the car. If it really bothers you that much, remove the bulb. (BTW, that's really good bulb. 42 years and still working!!)
