Default Won't start. Need some help

My 1969 has been sitting since the 70's. I bought a running engine out of a 1970 vette. It's has a point distributer. I'm getting fuel. Turns over but won't start. It sounds a little off. I checked for spark off of a wire with a plug and got nothing. There is power to the coil at positive side. Where should I start? Doing a frame off and this is the first time it's been not fun in a while.

Check your point gap/dwell, make sure that none of the wires to the points/condenser are grounding out on the distributor and make sure the timing is right. By that I mean that it's sparking on the compression stroke for #1.

With no spark its not gonna start or run so start there, if you can score an old good hei dizzy to test with it's far better than putzing with points...

Good idea..feed it 12 v direct. It would eliminate the coil, ballast, rotor etc. But you would have to mod or swap the plug wires to fit at dizzy.

Check all your wiring again, check balllast, use a test light, key on
