Default Question on Rear Panel Letters

I have a set of C O R V E T T E letters for the rear of my '68 coupe. I should say I thought they were for my car. However, when I started to put them on today I found that the spacing between the mounting pins do not fit the holes. They are too close together. The script looks correct for the 68 to 73 according to what I am seeing on line. Any ideas on what is wrong here?

Hi 68,
Those must be letters used after at least 73.
They're quite a different shape than the 68-73 letters.
Regards,
Alan

68-BB. I just redid my rear bumper cover and those letters that you have look like the ones for my '75

'.

..
They are different than the early design needed for your ride.
Graham.

Thanks Graham. Looks like these must be for 1974 and 1975 which are the same. I have so many random parts I have collected over the years I don't even remember where some of them came from! Thanks again for pointing me to the correct year.
