It can be a correct casting number and have a casting date within the correct range and still be a NOM.

I share in your confusion. I really wish that someone could/would publish a glossary of terms, abbreviations, acronyms and slang used by users of the forum and post it as a Sticky for anyone to refer to. It took me months to figure out what the he// an AIM is.

 

Me too! I did find one though, got it in the mail today, I can see how it's a handy book to have around.

In the AIM some of the interior soft parts like seat covers, door trim panels, and carpet, have the word..chart..in their description.
What does it refer to? I really don't know.

It is my understanding CHART refers to a list of part numbers too large to be included in the AIM. Interior components multiplied by the number of colors offered in a model year is a good example. Front springs and the various spring rates are another.

I've got various AIMs (73-77 in that range) were there are several pages at the end of the AIM listing various interior components in various colors and how they were intended to go together -- somewhat akin to an ECL. My hunch is these pages comprised the CHART.
