I would start at $8000 in the condition I see. I do not know what they are asking. What is the car worth I would say with 90,000 miles on it and work involved to make it run right at the most $10,000 but I would not pay anything more than $9500 for the car. Being the last year of the C3s they are worth up to about $14,000 in excellent condition. which is a 4 rating this is between a 2 and 3 rating since I do not know more. The older cars had a higher RPM Yellow and Red line rating with the L48 and L82 engines this one only has a 4500 Rpm rating on the tach gauge. While this is the last year of the C3 the will end with this information
1982 saw the debut of the “Cross-Fire Injection” fuel delivery system. This TBI (Throttle Body Fuel Injection) was not the type of fuel injection installed previously in some C1 and C2 Corvettes. It utilized two throttle bodies combined with Chevrolet’s computer control system.[5] The engine produced 200 hp (149 kW) and was mated to a new four-speed automatic transmission with torque converters bypass in the top three gears. Compared to the previous Turbo-Hydramatic 3-speed, the new 700-R4 transmission had a lower first and second gear for improved low-end acceleration, and a fourth gear overdrive that would reduce engine RPM by 30 percent at highway cruising speeds, resulting in better fuel economy. On the downside, the new transmission was not considered a strong unit and proved problematic.[35] The final model C3 Corvette's published performance numbers were 0-60 in 7.9 seconds-the quarter-mile in 16.1 @ 85 mph (137 km/h). This was the last year for 8-track tape availability and new “cross-fire injection” emblems appeared on front fenders. Nose and fuel door crossed-flags emblems changed to a more squared design. Chevrolet knew this would be the last year of an entire generation of Corvettes and so commemorated the occasion by offering a Collector Edition with separate serial number sequencing, silver-beige paint, unique wheels patterned after the 1967 model's bolt-on alloys, and an operable rear hatch window.[36]

I have a red `82. It has 37000 miles and I paid $10K. You will absolutely love the car, but resign yourself to having to spend at least $3k, (a complete brake job alone is $1200) and probably $4k to bring it up to snuff. And, that is if you can do at least the minimal maintenance yourself. That is not a knock on the car - not one bit. It is because, after 32 years and 90,000 miles things are degraded and must be replaced. Blame simple physics and chemistry. Dave
Beautiful color combo, red on red. Don't know if it means much to you but that one with the options that I can see in the photos had a sticker around $21K when sold new in '82. Interesting that you can still buy a C3 in good condition for a depreciated value from new. It comes with the added bonus of being the last year of the C3s and should increase in value a bit faster than other late C3s. I'm prejudiced so if it were me I would get it. Recommend an offer of $8500 but don't negotiate any higher than $9500.
you cant be the buyer and the seller .ask them how much do you want. I would offer 4500 and go as high as 6000,if you like the car .that many miles you will need trailing arms and front ball joints .
I think u are right Easy Mike. She called me back and said they were asking 20k. Oh well.

When people ask us to make an offer which seems to be the new boring trend on CL it's in most cases because they hope we are stupid enough to offer too much and have it, sometimes they don't really wanna sell but are testing the water, if the offer is good they will jump,
For example I posted a wanted ad for another hobby interest I have, one fellow wanted 2K for a machine that sells all over for 400.00 in good shape, he didnt really wanna sell but thought if I was a fool....
If not rebuilt the old vettes with miles are worn and will need to be repaired, a car can look great and be a pig under the surface,
4500.00 would have been fair for that car knowing what I know about it and then perhaps less depending on wear etc.
