Default Anyone seen my upper left rad bracket?

Damn thing is relatively huge, doesn't roll worth crap
GFM got me good this time, guess I'll have to order one, and the rubber pad (another delay) when the new one is ordered, then the old one should show up.

Rads been in and out a bunch of times fitting the support, fans, etc. Now the bracket has disappeared. Spent waaaaay too long on the weekend looking for the thing, in boxes, drawers, under benches, in, over, under the car, house, basement, garage isn't even that big....nowhere to be found.

(end rant)

Hi M,
I too know about looking through boxes for a missing part or fastener.
I even try to think what other box may have been out/open when I last had the bracket, thinking it went into that box by accident.
Because I threw something away that I shouldn't have 25 years ago, I still have ALL the trash bags I've generated over these last years stored in my basement.
I've gone through those a couple of times looking for something…. at least not recently….. but I'm still afraid to throw them away.
Regards,
Alan

It's under the couch. Everything ends up under the couch.

Most likely your dog has buried it in the back yard.

Alan, check those bags for my bracket...

I've got several boxes and bins in the basement with every original part I've removed (JIC someday someone wanted to try to put it back, (good luck with that))
Not in anyone that's been opened since last time I saw it

I've also got a bin in the corner with all of the parts removed that are/were scrap (ball-joints, worn out hinges, bolts etc) that I keep until everything is back together, JIC I need to reference something or sometimes they are handy for "tools" (outer bearing races for example)
Not in there either

Rad shroud is removed (in basement) being replaced with spal fans.
Checked in and around the inner fenders, front nose section, etc where it might have gotten laid when removing the rad last time
Not there

Went through every drawer and cabinet in every toolbox and bench in the shop JIC it fell into an open one,
Nope

Blasting cabinet, parts washer, powder coat over, even actually looked in the fridge (stranger things have happened)
Nope

Removed everything from the open shelving units...
Nope

Hunter dog isn't allowed into the shop (too young for a shop dog yet) and there's still several feet of snow in the back yard so he couldn't have buried it...

aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhh hhhhhh

It will show up about six months after you replace it.

Heck, I lose place of wrenches and sockets I just used 5 minutes ago, let alone storage items. To help me keep track of items I have stored I number the box and then take a picture of whats in it. I have a folder on my desk top that has all these in it so when I need to find something I had stored away I start looking there. As for the misplaced items on a day to day basis I generally recruit my wife to help. She is like a blood hound finding things as long as I can tell her what they look like. Now, don't ask her where her purse or cell phone or keys are. But the thing I just laid down and can't remember where, she will sleuth those out in a minute. Do you see your rad support in here anywhere?

I recently went through this with welding wire , had a new spool , lost it....looked for days ,threw in the towel and bought a new roll. about 3 hours after I finished up the welding job , the "lost roll" appeared. I feel your pain and frustration.

Glad you found it!
Reminds me of a time I yelled & hollered at the kids for loosing one of my wrenches.... (one I needed badly, and only had one of them)....
2 days later the oldest boy comes in the garage and I`m using that very wrench. He asked where I found it. I said...
"Right where I left it, and I don`t want to hear another word about it!"
He just grinned, and nodded.
