got it started this morning after tracking down a bad ground.
I'm a goof. the bad ground was the jumper cables I was using to attach a top post battery to my side post cables.
Was doing that for preliminary checks and the like.
now I have the right battery and got it running. also found that everything works. I had thought that the wipers werent working but they do.. it all worked so well. headlights, wipers, lights, gauges.
Damn one happy camper here.
last thing to put together is the hydraulic clutch. Just waiting on a resevior for it then it should drive as well as run.

My 72 had a similar issue, the battery ground cable was not where it should have been. So I spent an afternoon one time fixing that. Never had an issue after that.
