I have a new wiper motor on my 68. Didn't even have one before. Just a big hole!. Works great! But the washer doesn't push out fluid. Hoses are all new, I hear the motor pumping but nothing. And yes, there is fluid in the tank. Do I need to prime the main line from the tank to the pump? I would think not because I assume the pump is a positive displacement pump and would self prime. And I am sure back in 68 just as now people ran their tanks dry. I doubt they had to prime the lines. So have I answered my own question?
sometimes the old fluid will dry up and block the small holes in the nozzles. Start at the line closest to the pump and see if fluid is coming out. Work your way up to the nozzles. If they are plugged, a pin should clean the ends out.
