I always take mine with me. I have the original GM bags, I put one upside down, and the other right side up on top of it in the cargo area. That space isn't even being used for more than an overnight bag anyway.
Living in the tropics you had better take them with you, no bags just use a towel between them top to top strapped in. That way you can get them on in a very short time.
take them every time. Weather is not the only reason. security, if I have to stop somewhere. Thieves are opportunists. Kinda like taking the Glock, its habit. I know, not PC but hey I do live in Alaska.
Yes ... as far as I know.... Not sure why I waited over ten years to buy them... Went with strapping the bag on the rack for years.. Blocked what little view you had .... Ecklers ... also.. several threads in here ...
Ecklers sells a raincoat softtop using stock t top mounting points. Looks purty slick but at a price... 340.00usd. 68-77 and 78-82 yrs. part#A50608 here in Cali South it rarely squalls, but that canvas raincoat would be nice to have so the t tops don't get dinged.
[I learned my lesson. Went out one summer day, no tops, left them sitting in a corner of the garage and that summer ride out of no where up pops a thunder shower like the tornado off the Wizard of Oz. I am running down the hwy, looking up at the dark black clouds roar in, trying to beat them but the wind shifted and the down pour hit. I got drenched. I got off at a closer exit, a rough side of town due to a over pass bridge and thought- Solution in sight, man I am smart,,Problem 2. It was a bridge where the homeless hung out and without even turning the car off or stopping I welcomed my out door shower once again. Lesson learned. A few years later- my 1977, I removed the factory rear window and installed a pop out window from a 1971 model and since then the tops never come out. The air flow is 10x better and no free showers, no free tans.....

The only times I've taken them off I've left them at home but I rarely take them off and only if there isn't a cloud in the sky and I know I'm not going to stop and leave the car unattended.
Tops come off in May and go back on in September. I store them in one of those padded suitcases in the garage. Never worried about thief as I don't leave anything of value in the car, other than the car and it's insured.
And tops on the rack are UGLY..... talk about destroying the beautiful C3 lines.
IF they are off they are in the garage until the car is back. The weather app is closely followed for any drive/show. If rain is remotely possible, the T-tops are the last thing to worry about.
