Default Vinyl striping?

For those of you who have done a wide black vinyl stripe, how have they held up?

Coming from one who does the vinyl stripes, it all depends on the material used. 3M is your best, Cast Film instead of calndered. you should get 7+ years of outdoor durability, and that's constant outdoor. I've seen trucks we've done go easy 10 years before needing replacement. Hope that helps.

Quality of the product is very important, color can be a factor too, not to mention if it is exposed to the outside 100% of the time. You won't get a gloss like paint, but the nice part is if you change your mind or want a different color I'd very easy to remove or change.

Mine has held up very well. But, I also put polymer protectant on it every time the car gets cleaned. Nu-Vinyl, Mequiar's for Plastics, or other polymer protectant will limit the UV rays getting to the vinyl. That is the "killer" for plastic parts/items. Just a quick wipe with it and let dry. Easy.

The stripes, numbers and lettering, on the vintage racers I crew on, are vinyl. They've held up very well, even though they're subjected to all kinds of unfriendly things, such as racing fuel, stones, gravel, tire "marbles", close racing and 165 MPH blasts around Daytona's banking.
