Soon to be a new C-3 owner.
It will be parked in heated garage on nice days in a very secure uncovered company parking lot.
My real question is I guess I'm going to be that guy who parks in the very last row well away from others. Do members have any tricks or suggestions when I will be on an overnight parking at hotel or attractions?
Car alarm suggestions? Or?
Thank you....Old55
I park with everyone else when I drive mine so it doesn't stick out and attract more attention. I do try to find two nice cars to park between because I figure they are less likely to ding it up.
My 77 was stolen tight out of my driveway, if they want it they will take it. I don't care what you do to it. When I lived in Brooklyn I used to chain my 94 to my fence at night. And that was in a good area of the city.
Brooklyn? I'm from Brooklyn. What part of Brooklyn were you at? I was living on 41st street between 4th and 5 ave, in Bay Ridge in the late 70s before I left for the Military. But I was born and raised in Fort Greene.
Oh and I would never leave my Vette anywhere unattended. That is what my truck is for.
Same dilemma.. My doors don't lock so I bought a "Club".... Then I noticed all the nicer cars to a thief around.... Much easier to part out a Camry than a C3.... I never used the "Club" ....
Lots of variables, personal choice, and type of insurance will dictate how and when you park, but if your C3 is cherry/show quality, and you have collector car insurance and it is stolen or damaged from a commercial parking lot,you will get screwed. If you have regular car insurance like you have for a daily driver, then you have to worry about how they value your car at a total loss or to repair 40 year old parts.

The important thing: pay your insurance bill and don't skimp on coverage. Owning a Corvette shouldn't come with losing sleep. There's a ton of cars for sale.
This has nothing to do with theft protection, but will save you damage to the nose/front bumper. Never park nose-in in a spot where another vehicle can park nose-in in front of you. The other driver cannot see the nose end of the Vette and may use the creep-forward-until-you-hit-something parking method.
By the way, you can't see the nose of your car either. Practice leaving ample space.

Park like normal people and people will be normal towards your Vette.
