Small Victory
My hood locks and cable were not pretty when I removed them from the old hood. I cleaned up and painted the lock plates but the sleeve on the cable was all frazzled out and needed to be replaced. I was getting ready to order one when I remembered a heater-a/c cable that I had set aside because it had been made assbackwards at the factory. I was amazed that the length and size was very close to the left to right hood cable. I just peeled off the end clip, added the retainer clips and used my old wire. Thereby dodging about a 40 dollar bullet for a new cable. One of those minor victories we occaisionally run into that gives us a smile. :-). Re-purposing anything is cool, re-purposing a scrap part is awesome.

68/BB must use the "5 year rule"! Keep an item for 5 years before you toss it in the trash because it may fit something else!
