Looks good! I'm about to do this. What equipment did you use? How long did it take? Outdoor I'd guess? How much blast media? Haha, just trying to get an idea! Check out my thread (sig) if you want any pictures of those kickup repairs too!

I blasted 5 hours first day and about 5 the next day, I had to tap on the bottom media valve periodically and change the ceramic nozzles 5 or 6 times, also the blaster has a filter/water trap with release button on bottom I had to stay aware of the moisture build-up and release it. I was very pleased with the performance of the blaster and my compressor kept up very well,
I used about 11 bags, but some of that wasted waiting for the blaster to adjust.
As you can see I did not bother with blasting the side rails, I am gonna replace both LEFT and RIGHT.
I bought the blaster at Harbor Freight $99.99
The media Aluminum Oxide less than 0.1% $9.96 per bag Silica
T-30 Ingersoll-Rand good for 25CFM @ 120 psi

How do I find your kick up repair thread? I am gonna be getting heavy into frame repairs next, pics would be a much help. Thanks, acco
acco, great pictures! I have the same blaster. I've been using play sand for small parts in a booth with a small gravity blaster, but I may switch to something like you used for this with the larger one. Great info to have!
Regarding frame repair, here's the link to my body-off thread: Body-off thread
Page 7 is where the fixing starts.
Here's links from member eastltd that I used to help me: Link 1 Link 2
And here's a link to my picture gallery, lots more pictures than in the thread: Picture gallery
Good luck!

Thanks for this, it will be very helpful, One question, What kind of wire welder did you use? What kind of wire?
Hi Mike,
The links you posted to eastltd's (Ian) frame work reminded me that Ian passed away suddenly.
He was quite a craftsman and did beautifully detailed work. I still miss his posts!
Regards,
Alan

Sorry for the delay, may have had a few barley pops when I got your reply and forgot till tonight's barley pops...
It's a Millermatic 250 and I'm not sure on the wire. I do know that my coworker thinks it is really crappy wire, I think something we buy in bulk from Indiana Oxygen.

Alan, didn't know Ian had passed, sorry to hear about this! Another beverage for a past enthusiast.

Thank you, I might go with a 211, they come with a new spool of .030 wire. A 211 is capable of 110V or 220V and can weld up to 3/8" mild steel. I think it wil be good for an all around Do-it-Yourselfer.
That looks really good, my frame was not as well taken care of, it needs much work. It looks like you used sand, the frame appears to have more shine than how mine came out.
