posted on tech board to, but figured I would post here too thanks in advance, I know someone has a 81-82 in the warm weather and if they can try theirs that would be great
was able to locate a original rear defrost switch from another forum member, received it and figured that I would open my original one apart and see if I could fix it when I had it out I heard a rattle and the only thing wrong with mine was that the light did not work, so after I opened it I found the original bulb and attempted to re solder it back to board after checking that it would still light up and it did. so after failing at getting it to reconnect, I picked up a new bulb from Napa, and soldered that on the board and it works, but its above 80 degrees here today and it wont stay on, I never tried it when it was this warm, is that why it doesn't stay on, or did I damage the board can anyone try theirs in a 81-82 of if you have before and it wont stay on when its that warm could you let me know
I haven't timed mine but I can tell you that it does stay on for a while in warmer temps. I sometimes use it to clear condensation rather than ice which we rarely have here.
