The only thing I found weird on my 1977 Corvette with less than 46,000 miles on it at the time of this post is the previous owners did not maintain the car very well. It sat for years in a garage and no one ever greased the front steering components so by the time I bought the car the steering system was shot.

Weird was when I went to grease the Steering Cylinder it spit white water all over my arm. Also when pulling on the Idler Arm, Ball Joints and Tie Rod Ends their was so much movement I knew it was going to drain my wallet. $1700 bucks later all those parts were replaced.

Weird again the Transmission Fluid was really Dark Red almost Black when I dropped the transmission pan. On these older cars this transmission fluid should be replaced at about every 36,000 miles if driven regularly. Every 5 years if not driving often. My guess never replaced. I dropped the Tranny pan and installed a new transmission filter and a new aftermarket drain pan with a drain plug. Than drained it twice last summer to get fresh fluid into the transmission.

Bubba Weird was a previous owner installed a Dual Exhaust System and ran it too close the transmission and also did not put a heat shield over the drivers side CAT. While the 1976 and on Corvettes have a Steel Floor Pan it was not safe this way. I had to install a heat Shield on the Exhaust system where it passes the Tranny and put a heat Shield on the Drivers Side Catalytic Convertor. I also had to bend the hangers at the end of the exhaust system because the chrome tips were burning into the rear bumper.

YUP Weird this car was not taken better care of before me It runs better now then when I bought it a year ago and almost $3000 bucks later and Much safer since the rear end will not catch fire.

I havn't looked at my tank sticker in many, many years but when I did it had some strange letters and no's on it so I brought it to an expert and they said it looked like they were options for a car sold outside the country. What I mean is is the car was brought in Germany safety glass was not manditory so it was listed as an option, things like that. They told me that even though they didn't know the car was purchased there.which it was by a U.S. soldier. The car was never in Germany it was delievered to Fla.The only option for the U.S. market was the 427-435,a real plain jane according to the experts.I really don't know if they were right, but they know more than I do,and I never persued it.I really don't care.

Power steering, AC, AM/FM radio, tinted glass, and headrests ().
The best option was found while redoing the console and radio..some kind soul had installed a signal booster from the radio to the antenna. Awesome.

1969 L46, TI, PW, 3.70 posi, AM/FM stereo, factory black with saddle vinyl interior, side louver trim and speed warning indicator. The only unusual thing about the car is the engine suffix of GD or GC (I forget). Most of the L46 cars I have seen have the engine suffix HW (I think).

I think having the rear window defroster option on a coupe is odd. First off, the blower only blows ambient air, there's no temperature control and second, it's much faster to just remove the window!

'70 Monza red L46 with AC,PS, PDB, tilt, am/fm, PW, Alarm, black leather luxury interior. I don't know the original owner, but I like his taste. Car is great to drive and very comfortable. Of course, the borgeson steering, Dewitt's radiator, Dynamat, and vintage air all help with that.

Wow! That is odd, especially for a later C3. Did it have a block off plate in place of the radio?

1,427 Corvettes were radio delete in 1977. It was RPO UL5. Most owners wanted a higher quality sound system than GM was delivering and installed their own.

If it had the plate it was not in the car when I bought it 21 years ago.

It would have been at original delivery, then tossed when the first radio was installed. Because of their rarity, I've seen originals sell for $500 or more.

My 68 is optioned very close to how I would have bought it, had I been in a position to buy a new corvette in late 1967. Had to be a convertible, I love the International Blue color - dark blue interior, L-36 bigblock (I am much too practical to have purchased a tripower), 4 spd M20, 3.36, power steering, power windows, no power brakes (I have strong legs), tele steering wheel (I am tall), AM/FM radio, small piece of tank sticker shows (long gone) white stripe tires.

I was the third owner of the 80 L82 I had. The first owner ordered it and put a check in every option box on the order sheet. PW, PS, PB, AC, Tilt and Tele, Rear Defog, Am/FM/CB Radio, Blue Glass Tops, Leather, Gymkhana Suspension, 255/60/15 Tires, HD Battery, and even the Trailer Towing Package.

My 75 Vert has PS, PB, PW, Power Locks, Tilt and Tele, AC, Automatic. That's about it.

!970 Corvette Coupe
Mulsanne Blue - Blue
350ci - 350hp (L46)
4-speed (M20)
Air condition
PS
PB
3:36 gears (posi was standard)
tilt-telescoping wheel
White lettered tires
AM-FM stereo

Nothing special but I'm thinking this is about how I would have ordered the car new if given the chance.
