81 C3 strange hose ?

81 C3 strange hose ?
I have an Auto 81 C3 with a black rubber hose, about 6mm in diameter, with a white stripe coming out of the firewall just behind the distributor just to the left looking nose on. Not sure what it is and where it goes as it has come loose from its connection point. Can anyone help please.

It probably goes to the heater water control valve. That cuts the hot water on and off depending on your settings to keep excess heat our of the interior. It's located low right in front of the A/C box. Look for it by tracing the heater hoses.
