Default sun visor replacement

I am going to replace my sun visors on my 1982. Corvette America sells visor that includes rod and corvette specialty does not sell with rod. There is nothing wrong with the sun visor rods springs retainer clips that connect sun visors. Can I simply slide the old sun visor off rod and slide new sun visor on existing rod. Much simpler then dealing with spring and retainer clip.

There are three visors for the 82 cars.

All visor parts and visors can be found here for your car... http://willcoxcorvette.com/advanced_...keywords=visor

1) Left hand with telescopic visor

This visor was used in conjunction with a elbow... and yes this square rod will come out of the elbow.

Elbow.

If you have visors like the ones shown below, you can pull the rod out of them and slide the new visor in place on the old rod. Usually when you do this, the metal band that crimps the visors to the rod will loosen up and the visor can become floppy. So to solve this issue if it happens, you can place a rag on top the bulged area and tap down a little bit to tighten it back up.

2) Visor right hand side, w/o vanity mirror (can be used on left if desired)

3 Visor right hand side with vanity mirror
