Default 1971 CEC Combined Emission Control

The following is being posted to help anyone with a 1971 Corvette. To assist you in correcting or understanding the CEC system.

This is a copy of a small pamphlet given to service departments that I had collected at one point.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for posting this! The other thread got me curious about this system on my car that I knew nothing about.

Now where did I put that magnifying glass?

Hi WB,
Very nice!
I didn't know that even existed!
The info at the bottom of page 3 is interesting… it explains the difference between CCS and CEC, and the benefits of the change.
Regards,
Alan

Kevin,

Like Alan, I've never seen this pamphlet either! Really neat to see and read about this system. Thanks very much for posting it.

I figured we are all bald and have our glasses on anyway? If you need a better copy let me know.

I'd love to find the sound slide film to go with the pamphlet!

I do believe this is the additional written instructions as described by Mr. Humphrey on his write up. These were sent out to teach the service teams. As Jack writes, there was no good drawings available for 71, only 70 TCS drawings to compare to.

WB

PS: I do have a few other 71 goodies!

I'm shocked to hear this, really!

Figured they were a known item?

My pleasure!

It looks like these images are no longer available. Does anyone have copies?

Thanks!

I thought it was worth a try. I save and file away any documents or diagrams that I find helpful, and thought that someone else might have.

Hi ckv,
Warbonnet still frequents CF so may see your post and 'refresh' the pictures he posted.
If you're interested in information about the 71 CEC system there's a very good booklet available that was sent to the dealerships to help the techs working on 71 cars.
The booklet is available on e-bay on occasion for generally very little money.
Regards,
Alan

Here's the booklet and the type of info it contains:

Hi ck,
Good!
There's other useful information in the booklet about 71 emissions control systems such as the gas tank vapor recovery system too.
Regards,
Alan
