Default Original mufflers on 1970 LS-5 BB???

All

Just curious what mufflers were stock on the 70 LS-5? How did I they sound? Were "N-11" type mufflers an option for that year? I understand side pipes were not optional.

Thanks for any education.

BTW. The mufflers on my LS-5 ( no idea what they are) are quiet as a mouse.

Thanks for the reply. I put the CC N-11's on my 63 and was a bit disappointed.

I see a lot of posts that say Gardner Exhaust systems are true to factory. Certainly there are many factors that affect sound.

Will keep researching

Just go on Ebay and buy a set of original (service replacements)
GM off roads, the part number will end 385/ 386. This is dead nuts what it would sound like when new. They are not cheap but its the only thing I buy just for the sound.

Thanks for the post but nothing like that on Ebay. A little more specific please...

Here is the part number from GM 3943385/386

These are GM high performance mufflers also none as "off roads"

Do your research and make sure the rest of your exhaust is the correct size as these GM mufflers. I love the way these sound.
