I went for a cruise today and while i was out one of the trans lines came disconected and needless to say all of the tranny fluid drained out i had to go less then a mile to get it home. if i need a new tranny does the 700r4 bolt in with no problems the car has a 350th it is a 74 if that makes any difference. thanks

Not really. It will bolt to the engine. The cross member will need to be modified or changes out to a ( I think a 1980 -82) or some like Bowtie makes a crossmember. The drive shaft needs to be shortened about 3 inches. Then there is linkage (Shift Works). You might also think about your rear end gearing. I went with 370's but what you have will work. Look at the Bowtie site to see what they sell for this conversion. It will give you a better idea of what you need. Check out the links below.
What makes you think you need a new trans? Did you drive it home? I would re-connect the line. Drain the rest of the oil out, see the the oil looks and smells burnt. Refill with the correct Transmission fluid. If it works, you just saved a ton of money, or maybe you were looking to put a new trans in anyway. I hope it works out for you
I replaced the line put new fluid in and she shifts. Know all I have to do is wash off all of the transmission fluid that got on the car. But the Engine bay looks nice and shine.
Probably happened so fast the poor thing never got all that hot, just fix the leak, fill er up, and check it frequently ....probably fine.....
now on any swap, only to bother if you cruise freeways at 70+ frequently.....not worth the bother otherwise.....
now the 700 will work ok, but it's a PIA to install, making the 200 4r much more desirable, if you want the overdrive.....consider it a 350 with a .70 overdrive 4th gear in performance.....
I barely made it home. I had to rev the hell out of the engine. It took 5 quarts of transmission fluid but it seems okay. I must have had fluid in the converter. So for know I am keeping the 350 turbo. Thanks for all of your help. Your knowledge was ver helpful.
