Hello all I,ve been a longtime reader and learned alot, Now i have ???
With time on my hands , I tinker with a desktop dyno from time to time.
I,ve loaded my engine specs and try different head combos for kicks.
With my 882 head flows entered (from the program) with 1.94/1.5 valves I get 334 hp 397 tq. When I change to 2.02 / 1.6 (L 82 heads)
I get 319 hp 393 tq. Why the drop? Bigger valves less flow? I also
tried Edl. E street head flows and came up with the same hp/tq as the
882s. Any thoughts? Teach me on head flows please.

You are only looking at peak numbers, you need to look at the entire range.

Also larger valves and/or better flowing heads will not offer much more if the rest of the motor/exhaust is not designed to support it and take advantage.

Its like putting a big block Chevy into a Chevy Nova. On paper lots of power and light weight but the factory frame is not set up for that much torque and the tires could not get it to the ground.
Its the complete picture/design, not just each item.

But why the drop with the same flow numbers only larger valves? Am I loosing a tiny
bit of compression when the valves open?
