I have been wondering if C5 lights will fit.

IMHO. That yellow C-3 with the C-6 conversion just doesn't look right to me. Especially the front of the car being so much wider then the rear. Which I guess is why they installed the rear flares which should of extended further down into the body instead of just suddenly being cut off on the bottom.
The headlights on the C-6 are the one thing I find the least attractive about the car in the first place, Which is why I have always have said the C-5 look ways better. Again IMHO.

That is what I don't like about wide body C6s. The flares look like homemade flare from the 60s. They are not wide bodies just stupid flares. I do like the little scoop on the hood though. Not so much the side flares. The C5 and C3 will always be the best looking Vette's. The C4 and C7 will always be the worst. Too much era influence and not enough Vette influence. Don't age well.

the yellow one needs the molded sidepipes that c4's ran to fill the gap at the bottom of the rear guard

If you want C6 headlights buy a C6. Leave your C3 the way it is. Why play with perfection.

This was big popular years ago but I can't speak for other states but it's illegal in florida, too low, the bad part is with some people all sue happy you can loose a lawsuit even if not your fault if the person presses they didn't see you due to modded lights,

I got popped in my 66 that had lights like these it was about 20 years ago, damn time flies, the cop was busy as it was on a cruise street I told him that was stock for 66 and he let it go....

I've never seen it in person either. My thought was that this would be great if headlight doors could be brought to level when open. If not, you are right - it does look droopy.

Aside from all the other mods I plan for my 77. I also plan on a headlight mod. But for me the only one on the radar is the square pop up conversion they used to sell. I have been keeping my eyes open for a kit to become available.

Does anyone have a link to a build log on this mod? I am really digging it. Actually thought about doing something similar opening a bit farther with small round projectors rather than the rectangle.. something about the C3 seems to me that everything should be round(ed)

But that also means they look not much different than a today`s Mazda - BMW - Toyota - say most any non Vintage car lamp design that you see parking along the road in thousands.
If it`s a drag race car and all the possible weight shaving has already been done and it is all about cutting more weight than fine.
Or if you just love to do it than it`s fine too.

To each their own with mods but imho c6's lights belong on c6's
I do not like modern stuff on classics,
I am the opposite, I like rectangle lamps on c3's the headlights, not the droopy ones in the blue car but the normal sized ones look far better than the round ones ( to me ) and I have 68 firebird tail lights for my 69 because it lends to rather than taking away from the low wide look the c3 has...just me.

The headlight mod I would really like to see would be LED's where you would only have to raise the headlight door about an inch.
