I think that has a ford motor in it. Google "fordette" and there are a few more photos of it.

I've been wanting to do it for some time now I think it looks bad *** like the c3/c6 conversion. It'll take some fab work but possible I hope you do it keep us posted. Here's a guy that did the same only different.

I've been thinking of doing that myself and wondered what it would look like, and or how they would fit into the body lines. WOW, better than I imagined. The price for C6 headlamps is very high but the weight reduction [about 80#s] just might justify the purchase. Thanks for the pictures. T

80 pound savings for the headlamps/buckets???!! I thought each C3 headlamp bucket assembly only weighed about 20#, or so.

This is the correct 'apparent' weight of the C3 headlamp bucket assemblies, because after wrestling for two to three hours, just to remove the pair, they each feel like they weigh 80 pounds!

I would just go with the l88 style fia headlight set up that does the same thing and is more period correct.

I Don't care for the look, I would rather put a new HID's inside of the org buckets. But I have decided to go with the c6 lights.

I'm in the hunt for some Chrystal Red c6 lights. That is going to be the color on my 73.

well since you said that, the head light that you want is straight up but ugly, but again to each his own.

C6 head lights don't even look good on a C6. I know I have one. I see them every day. Hidden headlights look better. The whole front of my C5 looks better than the C6. Don't ruin a C3 please!

Last I knew, a few years ago, the C6 headlight assemblies cost about $800 each. Also, the headlight lenses are plastic. It they are exposed to sunlight for any significant time, they will fog.

If you really want this look, I think you really should get the L88 racing headlights that were exposed a la C6, but appeared in the late 1960's and early 1970's Corvette race cars. The L88 style Le Mans headlights look much more stock like and appropriate for the C3. As far as I know, these headlights never were factory original, but the C3 L88 racing community embraced them. Last I knew, you could buy conversion kits from vendors.

His car is a str8 up custom street machine from the pics I seen so I think the lights will compliment his mods with the mix of corvette all in it.

Your car.....your choise.....but it won't be easy to make the C6 lights "flow" with the lines of a C3. Take a good look at the C6 nose on the C3. The lines are way different. You might want to consider fabricating something that fits in the original headlight bucket holes and covering them with plexi-glass that you cut to fit and cover what ever you come up with. Plus you end up with something that really is one of.

Okay...the L-88 race lights do look all bug eyed gross...people like them because that have that "L-88" tag on them....

C6 headlights...leave them on c6's in fact leave all modern lights off the classic c3's, If you like c6's buy one....if you want better lighting use some HID kit that fits the stock lamps......
