it was my late night at work so I just got home and I'm not working on it tonight, the good news is, tomorrow is my day off, so hopefully I can find some time to do something on it.
Here it is right before I threw it back in, all nice and clean and painted.
...
Hey qwank,
That looks beauty-muss. Anyone with wrenching experience will give you accolades at shows when they kneel down to see all of that under the car.
THEN... it will make all of this effort more satisfying, if not already.
ok, it's going to be really nice tomorrow and Saturday and I don't want to miss any more driving days so I took a few hours tonight to put it back together. I forgot to paint some of the spring hardware but I'll do it next time. I painted the tire tub but left it out in case I decide to pull the tank down next time it rains.
there's so much more I have to clean up undr there and paint. Time to pull the body (just kidding)
Looking good! Yeah, you don't want leaks messing up your fresh paint. Keep hitting it a little at a time and it'll look new under there before you know it.

Bad news, I put the car up on the alignment rack on Saturday after work. The rear toe on both sides is way out (i just aligned the rear toe a year ago). closer inspection shows that my trailing arm bushings are blown out. I should have known, they are the only original bushings left in the car.

Looks like I'll be doing another project soon
Not to worry, you'll never, ever run out of projects owning one of these! 90% of the parts on my C3 are brand new and Sassy, is still making me, replace the other 10%, weekly!

Ain't it the truth
that's why these are hobby cars, so we can keep busy working on them
You should put uour louvers on your car. I could not believe how much they cut down on the heat in the car.
I'm working on it. I had 2 cracks in the plastic, one on each side near the very top slat where the plastic is really thin. anyways, I got some really good 2 part plastic repair from my body shop Saturday and I fixed the cracks last night. It came out really good. I also have make and glue on the two tabs that slide under the trim in the front, mine are broken off also. Then I just need some really good double sided tape

Try that 3M Professional Double Sided Automotive Bonding Tape. You can get it at Automotive Paint and Body Supply Stores and it rocks! You can't pry the stuff off, once it's on. It is very, very strong.
