Default I'm so lazy...

My car and garage has looked like this for 2 weeks now. I pulled the diff to fix a stub shaft and pinion seal leak, but the "while i'm at its" are killing me. there's so much to pull, clean, paint etc. while i'm in there. Everything turns into a project

now I want to take the gas tank down and retrieve the build sheet that I can see. it never ends.

I already lost a great driving day today.

Maybe I'll bring the diff to work tomorrow and clean it and re seal it.

While you're doing all that work you might as well put the louvers on two.
The paint on mine is drying as I type.

I just thought of doing that but with the car being on jackstands and me being short, it will be easier once it's back on all four wheels. LOL

I'm jealous of how clean your garage is compared to mine!

A messy garage means there's work being done.

I needed to see this thread. I did my suspension and a diff rebuild in a few weeks but skipped a bunch of "while I'm in here..." things in the process and somewhat regret running old bushings and junk...

...but today I did get to take my son on a cruise on Father's day with the tops down rather than spend the day wrenching by myself in the garage!

How true!

Could you please e-mail that to my wife in the form of a bumper-sticker....

I want to stick it on the garage entry door for her so I don't have to answer the "When are you going to clean your side of the garage" question for the 50th time(this year)!

OR.............

I could tell her that I decided to change sides-----"It's YOUR side that needs cleaning now, DEAR!"

The only difference between your bay and my desk at the S-worx, is that instead of the mop, it's getting the salsa stains off've the top of the desk. I have the reputation of the messiest desk there.

Good luck on the rear suspension build. I can see where that would be a can of worms. If all goes well, you'll never have to go back there again!

Maybe I have the unpopular opinion, but a cluttered garage drives me crazy. Mid-project I'll leave it a bit messy maybe for a few days but at least every month or two I'll make sure I clean up, and I usually wipe down and put my tools away after each project or every few days because I can't stand not finding my stuff.

I guess it stems from sharing a garage with my grandfather as a kid, he was a packrat and I could never find anything!

Batwing bushings! Holy crap removing those things were the hardest task on this car so far. I wish I just left them alone but I already have new ones so I figured I take them out. Took about 15 minutes each with the air hammer The guys that were still at work after hours hate me right now Anyways, the diff is resealed. gonna paint it and hopefully get it back in Wednesday morning.
