Default tire pressure

I'm running BF Goodrich Tire's 225/70-15 on my '77. Does anyone know how many Lbs. the tire pressure should set at.

The factory recommended cold pressures were 20 lb front, and 26 rear. This was for the OEM GR70x15 radial. Your P225/70R15's, are the modern equivalent, of the original GR70's.

I think Chevrolet was going for a better ride, with these pressures. Personally, I think they are to low for crisp handling and proper braking. I always run around 28-30 lbs, but that's just my preference.

30 psi would be fine. At less than 25 psi, your tires would be at risk for blow-outs when running at highway speeds for very long. There would be too much side-wall flexing and building heat.

Keep them at 28 psi or higher.

I'm a 30 PSI kinda guy myself. The tire mftr will always print the max PSI (not to exceed) on the sidewall. That way, you can judge why some of us choose 28-30 as common numbers for a great many road conditions.

I still like to maintain the pressure difference between front and rear. I run 28/32 and it rides nice.

About 32psi all around works for me. No uneven tire wear.
