How do I find out if my car has an alarm - '78 I've only have had the car a couple months - got a bunch of Mickey Mouse crap to fix!! It has what looks like a horn in the leftside fender area close to the brake booster.

That's easy.....................try to steal it!!!!!
FYI, to stop the alarm you need to turn the key counterclockwise ( if you don't have the owners manual).
Once armed, another way is pull on the hood release and that should set off the alarm & also on later produced 78s if you tried to steal the t-tops by releasing the handle the alarm would go off. Not earlier produced cars.

Thanks for that.....guess I should have mentioned how to turn it off.
Knowing that you did not ask...but the alarm system you have in your car from the factory is nothing more than a noise maker. And the alarm will run...is set off... to the point that it will kill you battery. A very early attempt for theft prevention.
Later year models used a module which turned off the horn to save your battery and also incorporated a starter interrupt relay...which made it so you could not crank the engine unless you disarmed the system first.
