Is the "BF Goodrich" name worth $50 more to you than having "Cooper" on your sidewalls? If not, buy the Cooper's. Simple as that. The tires themselves are about the same.
My '71 coupe had Cooper tires on it when purchased. I drove it for a while that way. But, when an 'opportunity' arose, I replaced them with BFG T/A's. I just think they "play better in Peoria" than the Coopers.
if you're buying 15'' tires just buy the cheapest ones you can find. they are all all season tires and none of them will provide a noticeable difference in performance compared to the others.
Have Coopers now and have had BFG on other cars in the past. Both are good tires, but as 7T1Vette said, they are basically the same in terms of performance, handling etc. I'm happy with the Coopers. Part of this was the cost savings at Discount Tire - Coopers were $80 less on a set of 4.
