Default Important question

I took my luggage rack off my Vette ant getting ready to strip the back half of the car because the po filled in the air vents behind the back window...........anyway I would like to get the anchors out of the body, I know someone out there has did this before and I don't want to use a hole saw to retrieve them so I'm looking for some suggestions....thanks for your time in advance!

The luggage rack is usually held on by well nuts. Once the rack is off, the rubber well nuts can be pulled up through the deck or pushed in.

Define "minimal". The best way to repair the mounting holes is to lay up a patch from both sides.

What he said. You will probably want to feather back the holes on the outside before you fill them in anyway so it is not like you have to preserve the hole exactly. Compared to recovering the air vents, this is the easy part.

'75 is right-they will come out or push in easy. I then cut a small piece of aluminum and slipped it though the hole. Glued it to the bottom of the deck with epoxy cement while I used a piece of wire and wood to temporarily hold it in place. Then I tapered the hole and fiberglassed it in.
