I've just refurbed the column for my 69. Special thanks to highly esteemed member Jim Shea and his Papers.
To start with, this car is Le Mans Blue (976) with Bright Blue (411) interior
.
I'ts time to paint the column it now and although I know it was once blue, my question is; With a car in this color combination, should the column be the same blue color as the body? Thanks, Rick

Thank You Alan. I'm getting ready to spray the jambs and thought I'd shoot the column at the same time if it was supposed to be the body color. Now I'm wondering if I can use interior dye to spray the column, or maybe I need to get some paint to match the interior for this job? In my case here, blue on blue, the int and ext colors just happen to not be far off from each other but I'd rather have it be as correct as I can reasonably make it. Thanks, Rick

I just did the column on my 69 Roadster - picked up a tilt/tele column (from a Forum member actually) and painted it with the dye gunmetal grey interior spray. Looks perfect!
Hi Rick,
Many people report good results with the SEM interior products.
They're described as a dye but work well on interior 'hard parts' too.
Regards,
Alan
