Drivers side blinks fast, passenger side blinks normal. Any ideas.

In that case, try putting in a new fuse.

I would say either a new fuse or flasher unit.

Low on blinker fluid maybe?
Seriously, it may be a weak ground one that side. If all of the bulbs are good and identical side to side, then, it is possible one of the ground circuits is loose. You can try using a length of heavy wire, tied to a known ground, and touch the ground of a few light sockets to see if the flashing rate changes.

If the fuse was bad, wouldn't the turn signals stop working?

Yes, they would.
Every time I've seen this happen, it was because of either a burnt out bulb or the circuit was overloaded, i.e plugging in trailer lights. In the case of overloaded, a heavy duty flasher always took care of that. For a few dollars I'd try that.

Did you check the side markers too? I found one of mine not working.
turn on the signal and walk around the car checking every bulb.
A fast flasher usually happens when you add more load, like hooking up a trailer to a car/truck with a non-electronic flasher.
Maybe you have the wrong type of bulb in one of the signal lights.

My fronts markers flash but my backs don't.
I just checked.

I know what the extra load is. I took out the reverse lights and added another red light.

No I don't think so, the reverse light is not a blinking light.
But if you removed the reverse light and connected it to the signal circuit then that could be your problem.
Why remove the white reverse light?

Because it looks better with 4 red lights. If you do a search you will find a lot of people have done the conversion. Ecklers even sell a kit to do it.

Seriously? That wouldn't pass the state inspection here in Pa.

Yes seriously. I don't live in PA. So it really dosen't matter to me. And dosen't lead me in any direction to look for a fix.
I am looking to solve my problem of one side blinking fast and the other is normal. I really don't care if it passes in any state.

Did it work correctly before you made these changes? All of this would have been good to know at the beginning of the thread.

I be honest with you I don't remember. I bought the car and drove it twice and then took it apart.

Is this the GTO you mentioned in the other thread?
Did you rewire anything to make the old backup lights blink?

No it's for my 80 vette, I would use a Pontiac forum for the goat.
