I have Hedman 68301-6s on my 78. They fit great on the driver's side, but the passenger side is very close to the idler arm and I had to grind some of my scatter shield off to get the header up against the head.

Just realized the pictures I posted did not show the passenger side installed. I have the heavy duty Moog idler arm, and it is close, but the headers required no modification. There is probably 1/8 inch between the header and the rubber seal on the idler arm? We will see if it survives the heat.
Good thing you dont have a big block, because I can tell you from experience, they hit in like four different places...
If I had a big block, I would use the stock big block manifold. It looks cool and by design would appear to be a decent manifold. Not as restrictive and lacking flow as the rams horn. And it is no surprise to me that headers don't fit. There is only so much room in a Corvette engine bay, and the big block engine is tight.
Well done ! Love that you painted it Chevy orange ! Corporate blue just doesn't do it for me ! I did my big block for my Nova in it and regretted it every day once I had it all together!

That is one sweet 77 !
Thank you for the compliments. For me, a Chevy 350 is supposed to be orange.....even though GM changed it mid stream in 77. I used the Eastwood engine paint, and while it took multiple coats, it really is a brilliant deep color finish that looks great. And it has been very durable over the 10,000 miles I have put on it.
As for headers, I switched to Stainless Work Stainless Steel headers and exhaust...pricey but very high quality and actually fit even better than Hedmans, and more ground clearance.
