Window alignment and rubbers
Pulling my hair out over Windows atm.. seemingly doesnt matter what I randomly adjust... I have a gap at the top front corner... and for a large part, if not all of the rear rubber!
Many thanks for suggestions as to what I should be adjusting to get better fit on these areas...
Alternatively.. for the rear, I do have some larger profile rubbers... should I just fudge those in?
"seemingly doesnt matter what I randomly adjust"
I'm afraid adjusting the seal on door glass is one of those times when following the "Glass Adjusting Procedure" sheet in the AIM is the way to go.
Have you been looking at that sheet?
It appears your car is a coupe so be sure your looking at the sheets for coupes not convertibles. Look for the sheets with 19437 in the 'Model' block. (UPC 1 Doors, Sheets K10 and K11 in the 71 AIM, likely a similar location in your car's AIM).
Notice that there is a sequence to the procedure and the procedure begins with the glass in place but ALL the fasteners loosely installed so the glass and the tracks are free to be moved.
The photos you posted really don't show the situation clearly except that it appears the glass is tipped out at the top. Is that the case?
If so, you'll be working toward getting the 2 vertical tracks in the door that the glass travels in moved inward at the top of the door.
Regards,
Alan
