I'd like to see some pictures. Do you happen to have a picture of the Muncie code and VIN on the side if the transmission? That would really put a lot of these non-believers in their place! Don't listen to the nonsense, it is quite possibly very rare!
Original CJK engine paired to the original M22 would certainly put you in rarefied air.
Looking for information regarding C-3 mystery suffix numbers. 1971 coupe and information about article in Corvette Vue 1980, stating that the Central Office said it made forty cars in 1971 with M22 Rockcrusher trans and some having A/C.
Our tank sticker shows that this car is number 34 out of 40. This car is all original and matching numbers. Any more info would be great
I see you just joined the forum last month so welcome. There are a lot of very knowledgeable folks here that can offer a great deal of help. Don't be to quick to dismiss the help they are trying to provide. I would also suggest you join the NCRS. Many people have come on this forum after they have bought a car they were told was something other than what it was. Mistakes sometimes have occurred with stampings etc. but you can help clear up "the mystery" by posting the pictures.

Unless the images are manipulated with software like Photoshop, they would speak for themselves.
To the OP: Any chance that you can provide those images and help dispel any mis-information? We can offer you more information if we can see the "goods".
This reminds 0f the 70 LT-1 in another thread that has all the ZR1 options but is not a ZR1. The owner has docs and tank sticker he posted on ebay, but everyone says it is not real.

All you need to get a tank sticker is order one off the internet - http://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-68-69-70-71-72-CORVETTE-ORDER-COPY-TANK-SHEET-TANK-STICKER-/131257780927?pt=Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item1e8f92cabf&vxp=mtr
You can also get POP's, and lots of other documentation.
I would not put any weight into documentation, the car needs to tell the tale.
My 1971 "Sparty" is numbers matching. It has a CJK engine, which is a 350/270 engine with my three speed automatic TH400 transmission, which also matches the VIN on the engine pad, the A-Pillar, and the frame. I verified it all during my frame off restoration well documented here. I have the original papers, but don't have my tank sticker. It's not an LT1, it's not 1 of 40, it's not rare, it's just mine. I would suggest we get your car in front of some real knowledgeable Corvette Owners, some of which you have heard from here on the forum, and let them walk you through what you have. It isn't hard to verify numbers, and I have inspected cars for friends to help them cut through the bull that many selling cars try to feed potential owners. This group of folks are here to help you with information and direction. After a few years of an ugly restoration I can tell you first hand this group knows the C-3's and I am proud to be a member of this family.
Let me know if I can help the OP sort through the car he has, be glad to try and help.
This post reminds me of the fishing website I visit from time to time and the rule that applies there applies here as well,
I call BS without pictures!
To the original Poster, welcome to the forum. I hope you have what you say you have. Lets see some pictures of this beast.
I'd be interested in seeing this magazine article with the incorrect info. In return, I could dig out a magazine featuring the roll out of the high performance 1973 LT-1 Corvette.
