Spraying the car is the easy part if you have experience spraying and a proper spray booth. If its your first time you will almost certainly make a mess of it. I do all the prep work and then pay someone with experience to actually hold the gun and spray.
I was thinking about doing this also due to the fact that it would avoid any problems with getting paint all over the garage of the house my family rents. Haha
Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll look more into it and see my options, but it looks like either way I'll have a repaint once I get the car! Maybe a nice deep ruby color
So did I. Wife & I did all the prep, sanding, & primer. A friend of mine shot the paint... PPG single stage acrylic urethane (Steel Cities Gray).... not bad for an $800 paint job!

I don`t know if this will work for you, but we used a box fan, some visqueen, and a couple rolls of duct tape in the garage to make a temporary paint booth. When we were done, only the floor had any overspray on it.
