Default Help! Where does this go?

This fell out when I removed the cover of my emergency brake handle. Any idea where it goes under the cover and how to install it?

The ribbed pattern matches the slide, but its much wider. Never noticed this before, but when I pull the E brake handle full on there is a gap below the handle where you can see under the cover. Thought maybe it filled that hole somehow but couldn't get it to fit anywhere.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm surprised you haven't gotten your answer yet. You are holding half of your ebrake slider. You need a new one. If you need help installing I can verbally walk you thru it. Easier that way. Ryan 714 nine 31 4760.

Yep. The missing half might still be in the ebrake console.

Turn over your ebrake console and look in chrome ebrake slider track to see. If not there, lift up back portion of shifter console and look there. You are going to make sure it's out of there before putting in new slider. They go for about $10

Hi,
You have to be a bit careful when you install the new side so the front of the slide doesn't get hung-up on the rear of the shifter console.
Regards,
Alan

Thanks to everyone for the replies. Alan, you hit it out of the park with the pictures, thanks for the effort.

I have the long strip that seats in the metal track, but this piece (in my photo) is wider than the strip and has is hook shaped on the end? Was it once attached to the long strip? Does it go at the top of the ebrake housing or at the bottom by the console? I've looked at new strips online and I don't see this hooked piece.

It's just a broken off piece of the slider seal that maybe someone rigged in there to fill a gap. Sometimes original or even older reproduction parts are slightly different in size or texture than newer reproductions. It is a piece of junk at this point. If you have a complete slider in place and there is still a gap between the two consoles, you are possibly missing the small insert / bezel that inserts into the forward console (you can see it in Alan's pictures).
