I don't hate C7s. I simply don't like the styling. Ditto for the C6; simply had no eye appeal for me.
What's the story on the pics you posted? Was this an accident? Vandals? A dissatisfied owner wanting to cash out through his/her insurance? Revenge for taking up two parking spaces in the parking lot?
Seams to be the attitude of society today, no respect for others and their property. A Vette is a Vette. period. C1 people didn't like C2's and on and on. If we all live long enough we will see C?. So let's just enjoy what we have. Have a great drive.
I actually really like the look of the C7, but that's completely irrelavant. You have to be a real douche to destroy or damage someone's car just because you hate the car itself. I don't go around smashing "I think I'm better than you and don't care that my slow-azz car is holding up traffic" Prius windshields.
I suppose I should feel fortunate not to have run into this kind of attention - what with a "balding, gold chain wearing, white trash" C3 and a "I hate the environment so screw you" Hummer H2 as my main two vehicles....
That is a real shame. That is going to be a very costly repair. There is no excuse for why people would engage in such thoughtless acts. That is one of the unfortunate realities of the world we live in.
As for me, I really like the C-7s for what it represents in the way of American automotive technical advancements. And I also like the way it looks. But I just don't see a corvette.
I don't care what kind of car/truck/van/SUV it is... damaging someone else's property like that is grounds for some serious hurt. I don't think for a second that the butthead who did that was a C7 hater per se. He just saw what he thinks is a hot car being owned by someone who has more than he and vandalized the car in an attempt to minimize the owner. This is where we've come as a society/culture. It sucks - it really sucks.
On a side bar, this is a C3 forum. To us C3's are Corvettes because for most of us C3's are from our generation. I also like C1's and C2's. However, I'm no fan of the C4's on up. I don't think of them as Corvettes. This isn't C4/5/6/7 hating. I just wouldn't own one because those cars simply don't float my boat. The guys on the C7 forum are probably saying the same thing about C3's - and that's okay with me.
That Sucks, you work hard to have something nice and others are jealous so that happens. Not sure if I would buy the car if I lived in a apartment.
I drove a C7 at my brother in laws race track and that car pulls like no other factory car and I had the A/C on. I would love to have one, the front fenders are just like a C3 when sitting in the car. Seats are comfortable and keep you planted in the seat through turns.
