Overflow Tank Cap...
Does anyone know what the material is that is used under the coolant tank cap? My cap is letting a little coolant seep out and when I looked under the cap the little round thingy that is used to seal the cap to the tank is all destroyed. This is on my 81. Looks like a thin piece of cardboard? My coolant thank is new, but cap is not.

The cap on the overflow tank may be a fiber material like a cardstock. If you have coolant seeping out there then the tank is 'way too full. The overflow tube molded into the tank should handle any overfills.
