Default Differential question.

Good morning.

Can someone please tell me if this is a 1979 or a 1980 differential, I'm getting mixed stories. I can't seem to find a code on it but there is what appears to be a date stamp of 2-17-81 on it. There is also a date stamp on one of the gears that reads 11-20-82. The issue is that the U joint for the half shafts is a different size than the one in my 1980 Corvette.
I'm new to the Corvette world and I'm looking for help.

Thanks.

79 differentials are iron. 80-82 are aluminum. The original code would have been on the missing rear cover. Based on dates you have found, looks like 82.

Thank you, that's what I was thinking too. Any idea about the different size U joints on the half shafts?
