Default P/S Control Valve, which vendor ?

I am going to Carlisle for the show and parts. One of the main things I want to get is a new/rebuilt P/S control valve. I will be bringing my old one with me for a core. Who the best vender to get a a new/rebuilt one ?
opinions please ?

Oh, and no I am not rebuilding mine myself, Murphys law told me not to

Can't help you out with a vendor but I agree, I too would rather have someone else do the rebuilding, that way if it didn't work out right you can just get another on their dime. Of course it's a pain in the butt to change so there's that

From previous experience, I would not doubt that most come from the same basic part suppliers. I got mine from Advance Auto Parts a couple of years ago. No problems and saved a few bucks. Plus I know where to take it if it was not good when I got it

I was thinking of an Advance auto one, but wasnt sure on their success rate. I am actually kinda surprised to get someone on this site to say they have bought one from. I have had alot of good luck with parts from Advance, just didnt think I should chance it with a control valve from them.

I bought one from Napa about 1 3/4 years ago, it's beginning to leak - wish I could find that darn receipt since it had a lifetime warranty on it

Don't know if they will be at Carlise but I bought my valve and cylinder and new hoses from Muskegon Brake. Very reasonable, fast shipping and work great.

First one I tryed was from Rock Auto. It leaked from day 1 so I got one from Willcox. No leaks and they refunded my core charge without any hassle.

The best place to buy parts is from your local parts store....and I see written proof that members have already used those sources

and they all sell the A 1 Cardone brand...........

Thanks for the vote of confidence! We will be at Corvettes at Carlisle and we will have valves with us. We would be happy to help you out with that!

Interesting, I just did the same thing and it leeks (Rock auto I mean), I have a new one here to install, if this fails, I will go somewhere else.

good to know about the Rock auto replacement, I was going to order one from them, guess I'll go to Advanced or Napa so I don't have to deal with shipping core back...

Just got mine (new not rebuilt) from LoneStar with a 5 year warranty. They should be at Carlisle. I went to them because the new calipers I got from them last year are perfection.

I just ordered a brand new valve, cylinder and hoses from Willcox, so, I will have to see how it goes. I chose to go the new route because, living in Canada, shipping back the cores is too costly to be worthwhile.

After shopping around I found Willcox had the best deal between Forum pricing and weekly sales. And, if it turns out to be a dud, I can expect some level of support.
