I removed all the window tracks and window motor today. In the search section a lot of people are saying use white lithium grease on the tracks. So I picked up some this morning. My question is do I use the white lithium grease behind the large gear on the window motor? Also how am I going to get the large spring back in place?
If you're talking about using grease behind the large gear, are you talking about the round gear or the window arm gear that is made of thick sheet metal? If the motor gear, then yes, behind it. If the arm gear, yes, where you have contact between the metal areas and nowhere else.
As far as the spring. Just insert it on the peg and take a pair of pliers to the tab and twist it around until it's up and over where it locks in place. It's not that hard. There isn't that much tension on it.
Thank you for answering the grease question. I couldn't tell how tight the spring was when I came off. So it's only going to be about a 1/2 a turn on the spring.

I'm remembering now, it's a split peg, that it goes over. There's only two ways to put it on. The wrong way and there's no way, it will ever wind that tight! The right way, a 180 degrees, and it's about a half turn!
I don't know if this helps, but heres a photo. When I serviced mine I had hard packed grease behind the motor gear. I degreased it while runnung the motor with a battery charger on the bench, then sprayed the new litium grease in.

Thanks for the picture. What kind of degreaser did you use on the motor?

Nothing special, I only degreased the gear to the right of the picture & where you can see the new grease in the photo. Both my motors went from being seized to super smooth and fast. I also sprayed the grease at all the hinges & runners in the door
