Default How rare is this option combination?

It's curious if this list of options in a 71 base 350 car is considered rare.

Convertible
Hardtop
Rear defrost
Tilt/tele
Shoulder belts
PW
PS
PB
Alarm
Auto Trans

NO but if it was a 454 with a 4-speed it would be.

Hi,
There are no statistics that can be used to determine how rare a certain combination of options on a certain car is.
I'd say since there were about 1600 71 model year cars were built with the rear defroster, and about 700 with the shoulder harness, your convertible with the defroster and harness is relatively rare.
Does this have any affect on anything other than being a curiosity… probably not.
Regards,
Alan

...but if you can get all those options functional at the same time that would be rare.

I would say it is. With the combination of shoulder belts, rear window defroster and no radio.

Hi ES,
I was thinking that RIZ just left the radio off the list.
But you're certainly right… in fact… since about 21,500 cars had radios the combo would be very rare.
Regards,
Alan

Hi Alan,
I was thinking since the radio is an option and it wasn't' listed, that it did make it a rare combination, as you alluded to.

It has the am fm radio. Alan is right. Forgot to list. And everything works:-). Thx guys. Trying to decide on letting this one go for a 71 BB very I am searching for. If I can't then fully committing to this nice driver might be the way to go. It has a nice 4 ft paint job but completely original top to bottom.

Hi Riz,
A nice set of options but leaves me wanting a 4-speed and a/c before leaving home for it.
Regards,
Alan

Yes it's war bonnet yellow. And Alan, 10 years pumping a tough clutch on a 70 RT Challenger got me feeling comfy with my auto. That and a 45 degree inclined driveway :-)

So, it appears to have all the options, except custom interior, and a larger displacement motor.

I think so. Hate to put a $10k paint job on a $25k car but it deserves a new paint job although from a few ft it's super nice. Decision time.

I'd put the ten grand toward the BB. Your car looks good enough to sell quite easily.

It looks like a nice car. Do you really need a big block? Is it worth investing more money in a car that you would probably use less?

Don't confuse desirability with rarity.

The legends aside (ZL1, ZR2, ZR1, L88...), there are some good reasons why certain combinations might not have been put together very often.

Although you cannot tell which combined options were on a how many cars, this is still a fun facts site.
