I am replacing the stock radio in my 69, but it only has 1 wire, grey and green, out the back of the radio for the speakers (green - right and grey to left side), but the speakers have 2 wires. Where does the 2nd wire go, ground?
Yes. The '69 Delco radio was a 'common' ground system. If you still have that original radio, you could run some dedicated grounds to those speakers (the later vintage C3's with dash speakers had dedicated +/- speaker wires). It would be best to run them from the point of the ground connection for the radio.
If you have swapped the original radio out, you will need to wire the speakers as specified by the radio head manufacturer. Newer radios DO NOT use a 'common' grounding method, but choose to send dedicated + & - wires to EACH speaker. Do as your radio head unit requires.
