Why the C3 ??
The C1's , 4's and 5's, whilst still great cars, bear resemblances to other cars of their corresponding eras.
Again just my opinion, but it is the C2's and C3's that established the Corvette brand into the legend that it is today.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I don't see myself getting rid of my C3 anytime soon, but I wouldn't turn down a strait across trade for a C7.

C3 big motor , radial styling , loud and fast.

To me a C3 convertible was the prettiest ride ever.

C3 is beautiful like a woman. Front fenders rising up then down. Pinched in waist, then full round rear quarters and a cute little rear end. Mmmmm good.
I made a pact with my dad and Orange Crush, that I would keep the car, love it, appreciate it, etc. ...for better or worse, until death do us part!
I love the car. I have a bond with it that not every C3 or Corvette owner has as my dad gave me his car at 15. We work on it, drive it, and spend a lot of great time together.
It is just awesome. As for the car, it has the lines and bold stance that nothing else has. They stand out in a good way, and are superior to C1s and C2s handling, have great styling, inferior to C4-C7s handling/performance, but the C3s are the last great classic Corvette. For the most part, they are affordable. The newer generations have a lot of great features, but they don't have that killer look with the razor sharp lines. C4s are boxy, C5s are more round, and the C6s are IMO grown up C3s.
Whats not to love? Old and original styling, great performance, and reasonably priced. Like someone already said, they wanted a '67 BBC, but too much money so they settled on the same BBC only in a C3. They are very fun to drive.
Just look at the lines. You get lost just looking at it as no line is boring to follow.

I agree with the sentiments of just about all the responses and especially Brandon72, 'till death do us part'. To many of the public, a car, is just a car and we all know that is not true.
There are cars with a certain 'presence' and 'personality' and when you find that car that meshes with every twisted aspect of your personality, you know you've hit the jackpot.
It may be a trying relationship at times, but those that know, are aware of that private moment, with just you and your C3, while it waits for you to turn the key, crank the motor and bring it back to life again. And each time, it seems like it's a new event. It thanks you and you do, likewise, because sometimes, that's all that you have.
