Ok guys, what are the tricks for cleaning chrome these days. I have installed Dayton Wires on an 80. Old school wheel but need quick and easy clean for show. Thanks!
Here is a secret I learned that has worked great so far….if you have some surface stuff that is a bit more then Never Dull will handle…get a small tub of water and Aluminum foil..found at every grocery store…..dip it in water and when rubbing the aluminum reacts with the rust and water and performs a miracle ) It worked great on the front forks on my Big Dog K9 and then used Never Dull to seal it afterward.
Wire wheels are not a "low maintenance" item. But, good tips above. If they are just dusty/dirty, using wheel cleaner at a quarter car wash, then "no spot" rinsing should do the job quickly and easily.
Here's a little tip when polishing chrome or aluminum using semi chrome or never dull polishes. Dip your buffing cloth in flour, yup good ole pillsbury. It really helps to remove the black oxide, leaves it gleaming clean.
