Same here Barry. I probably never got as far as you did but had corresponded with Ian around 6 years back about purchasing the LT-1. Great looking car!

Bruno,
You are going to need the correct metal fuel line from fuel pump to carburetor also.

Wonder why the LT-1 would require the 884 Alternator?? It does not have Air. Would think it would take the 1100 900
Hmmm

Good question. I went by the NCRS judging book. That was was listed. "All A/C cars, LS5's and LT1's"

Thanks!
I'm becoming obsessed with these details. For now I'm going to drive and enjoy the car. Eventually get all the bits together.

Great looking car, love the colour.
Is there an optical illusion with the battery gauge needle, or do you need to go in there and fix that?
The alternator is going to be a tough one to find - it was only used in 1970, and 1970 was a short year as you no doubt are aware. There are some around if you want them badly enough, though.
Hard to beat a 70.

I believe the more powerful alternator was required for the TI (transistor ignition)

The rubber fuel line is a serious fire hazard. I wouldn't drive it as-is.

Wow! OK, I'll fix that. Where can I locate the proper metal fuel line. It's at the mechanics right now so I'll have them repair it.

Are you planning on having it NCRS judged? I would shop around $2000 seems a little steep.
If your not having it judged I wouldn't worry about it

I would hold out and hope to find one for $1,500.00 if you are very lucky without the correct date code taken into consideration. Don just got very lucky and found one in his local area but I do not know for what price or if he traded a 900 for it. As someone stated they are out there but are very expensive.

Only if someone is willing to pay it. I'd hide my cheque book for now and not worry about WGAF numbers.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the tip. Ordered a steel fuel line (pump to carb) and will install. What does WGAF numbers mean?
